If you’re in the mood to ditch your woes and enjoy a few chuckles, this episode is for you. Our subject is animals… specifically bears, goats, and moose! FREE BEER’s “The Bear” features KEVIN BLACKMORE before he became BUDDY WASISNAME, and it also features CHRIS ELLIOT of “Madly Of In All Directions” fame. They accept a tourist’s challenge to shoot a bear. Comedy at it’s wackiest from those two. I don’t know if any serious songs have been written about goats. Certainly, the trilogy of goat songs you’ll hear on this episode of NFR are a mix of lighthearted nonsense that will leave you smiling! Now when it comes to moose, we have two fine story tellers – BEN J. PLOUGHMAN and TED RUSSELL. Ploughman focuses on the romantic antics of the lonely moose that inhabited Bell Island a few decades ago, while Russell, as Uncle Mose, spins a yarn which ends up suggesting that the moose should be Canada’s national animal!
