. April 18 "Music from 1996" (Ep. 875) PLAYLIST | LISTEN .
This week, NewFoundRecords rolls back the clock 30 years to 1996. By the mid ‘90s, vinyl as a recording medium was breathing its last gasp. Cassette tapes were still hanging on, but CDs were rapidly becoming the recording medium of choice for many recording artists. For this episode of NFR, we focus on releases that were not available on CD. That means that all but one track on today’s playlist have been sourced from cassette tape. Sim’s Studio in Belleoram was cranking tapes out at an amazing pace in the mid ‘90s.. In fact, 10 of the 13 tracks on today’s playlist were recorded there!!! So settle in and treat yourself to great NL music that has flown beneath the radar since it first hit the shops 30 years ago. You're unlikely to hear a curated mix like this anywhere else – certainly not on mainstream radio. ![]() Next Week April 25 "The Moratorium Blues" (Ep. 876 - Encore of 865) .
